Sorry I didn’t post last week. I might do a “What I Played Two Weeks Ago” post to make it up, lol, that was a good week. Lots of gaming. This week was pretty good too.
AGoT meetup at Cool Stuff.
I won 3 out of 4 games, so I must be doing something right. The guys who meet with us on Tuesdays are pretty cool, I like playing GoT with them. I was testing my Greyjoy Fealty deck and my Targaryen – Banner of the Lion decks. I played with each of them twice. I lost once with the Greyjoy deck, but it was really strong in the game I won with it.
I had a really good time, and I’m really enjoying this game.
I hadn’t played in a long time, so I was pretty rusty. Ultimately, it ended up lasting longer than I wanted it to, and the charm it used to have for me has mostly worn off, because I’m not really into it anymore. I still think it’s a brilliant game, and I love the theme, but unless I was building my own decks and really playing again, I probably won’t play much more.

I forgot to take a picture of this one, but I’ll show off some icon tokens I made, because the game doesn’t come with them (it really should, as there are plenty of effects that add icons to characters or that reference icons)
I wanted to test a fan expansion I made for the game. It didn’t go very well, but that’s okay, I learned what works and what doesn’t. I actually ended up winning the game and I barely used the expansion at all.
Anyway, I had fun with this. Back to the drawing board, I suppose.
I played UK, and didn’t totally ignore the Soviet Union (which is the reason I lost both times I played as the Soviet Union). I feel like this game is all about teamwork, and if you fail to work together, you’ll lose.
We ended up winning, because me (UK) and the Soviet Union kept pressure on Italy and Germany.
Great game! One of my new favorite co-ops. It’s hard, and there’s almost never a “good” choice to make, it’s just “which of these is the least bad?” And I really like when co-ops force you to make bad decisions.
We ended up winning this game.
This is one of my favorite bluffing games. It’s really fun and the strategy is so different every game, because you really don’t know how the players will react to your actions.
I did really bad in this particular game. I thought I could get away with stuff that I couldn’t. I barely snuk 1 piece of contraband past the sheriff. Just not good for me.
Meetup at Plantation Community Church. The turnout wasn’t great, but there weren’t any little kids running around.

I ended up winning, but it was close.
We played with the Inns and Cathedrals expansion, which is also the only one I’ve ever played with. I like it, but it’s kind of gotten bland at this point.
A good filler to get started once a few more people came. I think everyone had a good time with this one. It’s such a simple game, but such a good design.
I won, which is surprising because I’m usually really bad at this game.

Always a hit with non/new gamers. We played like 7 rounds. My team did not do well with this one, ha ha. I had fun, and when I was the codemaster, it was really hard to make connections.
This was, predictably, a little too heavy for some of the players at the table. I still had fun, but I didn’t think it was a good choice for the group we were playing with.
I played Germany for the first time, and honestly, I didn’t like playing as them. I’d rather UK or Japan, or even the Soviet Union, as long as my allies have my back.
Invited a few friends over for a bit of gaming.
I had been wanting to try this one for a long time, and I finally got to. It’s really really interesting. It’s a worker placement game where there’s always a few spaces blocked, but how the players move around and change where they place their dice makes it really interesting.
I’d definitely like to play this one again. I lost by 1 point.
We started off kind of bad, with the fire spreading quickly, and lots of explosions happening. Then we lost 2 people pretty early on, and our hopes went down, but we pulled through and ended up winning. The Extinguishing specialist, or whatever it’s called was brilliant, putting out fires left and right, and clearing paths for everyone else.
It was a good time, and Flash Point is one of my favorite co-op games.
I hadn’t played this one in a while, and I forgot how much I love it! It’s so good! Possibly one of my favorite games. We played with the Artisans expansion, and I really like what it adds. All around a great game.
I ended up winning, but it was close, another player managed to get 50 gold worth of cards, which was huge.
